'Twas the night before the flight and all through the house,
everyone was stirring not even quiet as a mouse.
We packed and we cleaned and I put the finishing touches
on the 'Time Capsule' photo album right there in my clutches.
The next thing I knew it was 3 in the morn,
thinking about the day I was born.
At 3:45 Ever woke up. I groaned.
"Go back to sleep my love", I did moan.
2 hours later we arose from our sleep,
7:30 at the airport dead on our feet.
We sat and drank tea, then realised the time,
Only to find the longest security line!
I fed Ever yoghurt and squirted it everywhere
My baby was covered and so was our gear!
We went through security only for mom to be called back
She'd forgotten to put some stuff on the rack
Our names they were called over the intercom faintly,
We heard and we raced with words not so saintly...
(Unbeknown to us,
that we'd left Ever's stuff!)
James ran ahead with all of the bags,
I came up second with Ever holding rags.
Mom was up last with nothing in hand,
We got to the plane not exactly as planned...
They let us onboard and we sat down in relief
Our prayers were answered oh my good grief!
The 11 hour journey was mostly smooth with some bumps,
Ever was good, but mom did some jumps.
We landed safely in Hong Kong until then...
We found we had left behind something again!
We asked at the desk if they had found a red bag on the plane
It contained Ever's portacot with the "Phil and Ted's" name
The dude went back to check for her bed,
Then he returned sadly shaking his head.
I stood on the spot feeling over it all,
At the gall of the thief the tears started to fall.
I knew that by then I was late to meet
My birth mother must think we had made a retreat...
James messengered Jane* who said everything's sweet,
We moved on without it, slow on our feet.
The moment was coming that I had thought for so long
I felt apprehensive... I thought, isn't that wrong?
We walked out to meet her, I only saw Jane*
She hugged us then turned and I saw a small frame
My B-Ma was here, in the flesh, in front of me there!
I was so stunned when she hugged me so very near.
We sobbed on each other's shoulders for what seemed like forever
I didn't know if she would let me go ever.
We eventually made it out of the Hong Kong airport,
And this is the end of my B-Ma meeting report.
One Love.
